NBA 2K's MyCareer mode pushes players toward microtransactions. You either grind for hundreds of hours or pay real money to upgrade your character. The challenge: build a web app that NBA 2K players would pay for, in a niche where free content dominates, with zero marketing budget.
The Solution
What we did.
We designed and built 2KDraft.com from scratch. The app lets players mirror their in-game character, enter real gameplay stats, and earn XP based on performance. Three career pathways (High School, College, NBA), 115+ AI-powered narrative events covering endorsements, interviews, rivalries, and lifestyle decisions. Community features with leaderboards and Discord integration. Pricing: free tier plus Pro at $19.99/year.
